Dr William Allison

Dr William Allison is an Emeritus Reader at the Physics Department whose research primarily involves experiments using molecular and atom beams. He focuses on the properties of atoms and small molecules on surfaces and nanostructures. He has launched several technical innovations in instrumentation. He was a key figure in advancing the helium spin echo method, which is used to study surface dynamics. He also participated in early research into the Cambridge scanning helium microscopes.
